My bank always puts a hold on my checks, but I have heard that not all banks do this. Aren't all banks supposed to use the same funds availability schedule?
All banks are subject to the same maximum hold periods established by federal law, but a bank is allowed to make deposits available sooner.
Review your deposit account agreement for information on your bank's funds availability policy.
